Manifestation is the process of making something imagined into something concrete. It operates through what's usually called the law of attraction, which I like to understand simply as resonance: like attracts like. You can manifest a life partner, money, health, clients — the mechanism doesn't change with the object.
You're always in the exchange
You're always in some kind of energetic exchange with what's around you. Either your energy is sending out the signal of what you actually want to create — or, without meaning to, it's sending out the signal of your blocks and difficulties instead. Those get amplified too: the same obstacle keeps showing up, attracting the situations and people that make it impossible to ignore.
There's no wrong answer here. You're either attracting what you want, or attracting what's in the way of it — and either way, it's telling you something real. That's what makes this useful: every challenge becomes a chance to see what actually needs to heal before a new signal can go out.
This is one of the concepts I love working with clients on most — interpreting a challenge through this lens. Not "why is this happening to me," but "what is this showing me about the signal I'm currently sending out, and what needs to heal for a new one to go out instead." It turns the whole difficulty into usable information, rather than just something to survive.
The object doesn't really change the mechanism — a life partner, money, health, clients, a two-month trip. Whatever you're trying to create, the same question applies: is the block in the way a real block, or is it accurate information that this isn't actually what you want? Usually, once you get honest about it, it's the first one.
Two months in Thailand
Four years ago, it was clear to me that the life I wanted included travel, adventure, and getting away for the winter — Montreal winters run about five months, and they're intense. My business was going well, but I'd never gone away for two months at a time, and I was genuinely scared that leaving would kill it. That fear was a block, sitting directly in the way of the reality I actually wanted.
I went anyway — two months in Chiang Mai. It was amazing. It was also not simple: my inner being hadn't quite caught up with my external reality yet, so I spent a lot of that trip doing energy clearing, moving through the blocks that came up, and trying hard not to overwork while I was there — because at the time I was seeing many, many clients every single week, and that kind of pace is genuinely taxing on a system, no matter how much you love the work.
Ask, become, receive
That trip is where I learned this isn't just ask and receive. There's a step in between that matters enormously: you ask, you get clear on what you want; you receive it eventually; but in between, you have to become the version of you that's actually in resonance with that reality. For me, that meant becoming someone who could genuinely take an extended break, after years of seeing clients back to back. I got the trip. I'm still becoming her, honestly — the version of me who can travel whenever she wants, while still loving being home in Montreal.
It's not just ask and receive. There's an in-between step that matters: ask, become, receive.
What this actually gives you
The real value here isn't a technique for getting more things. It's a lens for your own obstacles: when something you want keeps not arriving, that's not proof it isn't for you. It's information about the block still in the way, and about who you still need to become before you can actually hold what you're asking for.
That's the whole practice, really — building your life the way you'd build a piece of art: with intention, with honesty about what's actually in the way, and with the patience to keep becoming the person who can hold what you're building. There's no wrong pace for that, and no failure in taking longer than you expected. The becoming is the work, not a delay before the real work starts.
